As a former homeschooler, I know that traditional "school photos" can be hard to come by. As a lifestyle photographer, I love capturing life as it happens. Homeschool photos are my way to join those two loves for the benefit of homeschool families!
Homeschool photos come in two session types: In-Home Sessions, and Homeschool Picture Day. The purpose of each of these are a bit different. Keep reading to find out how!
Homeschool Picture Day is for any homeschool Mom or Dad who wants more traditional school photos of their kids! These sessions take place on one day, twice a year in the spring and fall. Each session is 30 minutes. During your session, I'll take individual photos of each student, photos of each sibling group, and photos of all the siblings together!
In the spirit of traditional school photos, I offer both digital and print packages for Homeschool Picture Day! The Digital package is $75.00 and includes just a digital gallery of your photos. With this package, you also have the option to purchase printed photos. The Print package is $100.00 and includes a digital gallery and 11 lustre prints! The included prints are 8. Wallet size, 2. 4x6, 2. 5x7, and 1. 8x10. With this package, you also have the option to purchase additional printed photos.
If you have an extra large family, feel free to reach out to me about booking a longer session! My goal is to make homeschool photos available to as many families as I can!
My goal for in-home sessions is to capture the average day in your life as a homeschool family! Every school year looks a little bit different so why not document the changes? These sessions are meant to capture the way you do school and some of the fun ways your students learn! For example, one homeschooler I photographed used a dry erase marker and her window to write out math problems. Another has science kits he uses that go along with his curriculum. There's no end to the creativity when it comes to homeschooling!
So how does it work? These sessions are typically an hour and take place in your home or wherever you regularly do school. Before your session try to think of a few different activities your students use to learn. Those can be anything specific to your family! Learning outside? Using blocks? Crazy experiments? Anything goes as long as that's how you do school!
During your session I'll take pictures to capture the learning environment, each student, and their activities. If you have a lot of kids (at its peak, my family had almost 10 learning at once!) your session may need to be longer than an hour to catch everyone. If this is something your concerned about reach out with any questions!
In-home sessions can take place anytime during the school year but I usually recommend scheduling for during the winter. That's because winter is about halfway through the school year so you both have a pattern down and are ready for some new material!
In-home sessions start at $150.00.
