The Groome family consists of Andrew (dad), Rachel (mom), and their son Andrew (affectionately known as "Little Andrew"). They are a fun loving, kind, and adventurous family! They are also good friends of my husband and I! One of the many reasons we love this family is how open they are to try new things. I reached out to Rachel about doing a lifestyle session and she was immediately open to the idea! This post is dedicated to highlighting their family and showcasing some of their photos:

The Family

To give you a little bit of background on the Groomes, Rachel is a children's pastor, Andrew is a teacher, and Little Andrew is in preschool. All three of them love being outside, going to the beach, and interacting with other people. In their own words, they are "active and outgoing." From my own experience, I've seen how they make fun wherever they are and prioritize building each other up!

One thing they especially love doing together is playing at the park. Little Andrew is a bundle of energy so it serves as a place to both run around and bond as a family! They chose this activity to be the focus of their shoot with a specific goal of capturing their excitement as they play.

The Session

Like I said, our goal for this session was to capture the family's excitement playing together. We walked all over the park, played on every piece of equipment, and even played with some toys they brought! I think Little Andrew's favorite activity must have been climbing things because everywhere we went he tried to get as high up as possible! His dad was also a huge help when by tossing him into the air!

As I was shooting, I loved watching how they all interacted together. Little Andrew can be a handful like any young child and was ready to move on to the next thing hardly as soon as he started the first! The great thing was how Rachel and Andrew were both ready to play with him wherever he wanted to go. They all happily explored and played like everything they found was a new adventure!

The whole session was filled with laughs, shenanigans, and snack breaks! One such event was especially sweet. Both parents alternated offering Little Andrew a snack and a kiss until he couldn't stop giggling! These are my favorite moments to capture. A sweet memory turned into a picture to cherish for years to come!

At the end of the day, this is a great family and I loved working with them! They are filled with joy, love for Jesus, and love for each other. I'm thrilled to watch them keep growing and take many more pictures for them in the coming years!
